Jessica Hammett

Jess trained in Voice at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, following an English degree from the University of Oxford. Her teaching career spans leading UK institutions including LAMDA, Mountview (where she was Senior Voice Tutor), Royal Central, ArtsEd, Italia Conti, East 15, and the National Youth Theatre. She specialises in classical text, voice into performance, and accent work.

Her coaching credits include a wide range of TV and film projects including The Wheel of Time (Amazon), Dune: Prophecy (HBO Max), Wicked Little Letters (StudioCanal), We Were The Lucky Ones (Disney+), Rebecca (Netflix), and His Dark Materials (HBO), working with actors including Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, Timothy Spall, Logan Lerman, Joey King, Rosamund Pike, and Paddy Considine. She brings a deep understanding of the actor’s journey, offering nuanced vocal support from casting and pre-production through to filming and ADR.

In the theatre world, Jess has supported major productions such as Anything Goes at The Barbican and Sinatra: The Musical, and she regularly collaborates with actors and creatives to explore how voice, space, and story shape one another.

Jess is the co-author of The Accent Handbook: A Practical Guide to Learning Accents (Methuen Drama), described by David Tennant as “a remarkable resource.”
